Tafur: Ranking the Pac-10 coaches
This week, in what would have previously been a sign of the apocalypse, a USC football coach said of Stanford: "We'll just do the best we can, struggle our way through it and hope to slow them down some."
Utes earn 'Road Warrior' reputation
Utah takes its Mountain West Conference title hopes on the road Saturday.
No big deal.
Pats to get physical with Clark, Colts
Dallas Clark has gashed many a defense over the past two-plus seasons, as the Indianapolis Colt has become one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the NFL.
He hasn't, however, gotten the best of the New England Patriots as often as he has other teams around the league -- a big part of the reason for that was the presence of Rodney Harrison.

Favre goes hunting, recovering from groin strain
For the first time since he signed with the Vikings in late August, Brett Favre was able to get away from football last week. The quarterback remained in town during the team's bye week -- he did spend part of a day watching film at Winter Park -- but Favre also was able to enjoy some time in the woods, hunting.
So what did he kill? "Time," Favre said during a news conference.
Caldwell keeps Colts on consistent path
If you hadn't heard much about Jim Caldwell before January, it wouldn't be that surprising. He had spent the previous seven years as quarterbacks coach of the Indianapolis Colts, but most folks believe that Peyton Manning is his own coach and coordinator anyway.
Tucker: How about Weis as Notre Dame CEO?
If Charlie Weis somehow manages to squirm out from under the proverbial ax, Notre Dame should consider naming him its CEO.
Since, in the financial world, CEOs are often rewarded for their failures, perhaps the university should toss its $4 million-a-year football coach a bonus as well.
