Security at the U.S. Capitol has been steadily ramping up throughout the week.
There's fencing all the way around the Capitol. Troops are napping on the ground, many of them now with sleeping bags. Many of their guns are propped against the wall.
This ostensibly protects the proceedings of Congress and the inauguration.
