The U.S. is coming down hard on North Korea.
"Today, the Treasury Department is announcing the largest set of sanctions ever imposed in connection with North Korea," Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Friday during a press briefing.
Mnuchin said the Trump administration is targeting "deceptive shipping practices" that have helped the North fund its nuclear and missile programs.
Specifically, the U.S. is going after one individual, 28 vessels and 27 shipping and trade entities the administration says are involved in helping the regime avoid sanctions.
Mnuchin wouldn't go into detail about which entities the administration is targeting. He said these sanctions bring the total number against North Korea to over 450.
