What started with public shows of confidence by both sides that the U.S. and North Korea could ease tensions and even make progress toward denuclearization ended with a thud Thursday.
Both Democratic and Republican leaders praised President Donald Trump for walking away from negotiations with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
