Trump Administration Blocks Sales To Another Chinese Tech Company

As of Oct. 30, the Commerce Department is blocking U.S. exports to China's Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit Company.

The Trump administration is once again blocking sales to a Chinese tech company.

On Tuesday, the Commerce Department instituted a ban restricting U.S. exports to Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit Company.

The Chinese state-owned business relies on American parts to make its semiconductors, which are key components in computer chips.

This export ban is similar to one imposed on another Chinese company in April. That decision forced ZTE to shut down most of its business. The Trump administration lifted the ban about three months later after ZTE met a number of U.S. demands.

The order blocking sales to Fujian Jinhua cites national security concerns, but didn't offer any specifics. The move is likely to increase tension between the U.S. and China.
