Judge: Detained Undocumented Immigrants Have Right To Abortion

The ruling defies Trump administration policy.

A federal judge ruled Monday that two undocumented immigrants in U.S. custody must be allowed to get abortions. That's in opposition to Trump administration policy.

Authorities are now "required to transport" the girls, who are currently pregnant and had been banned from leaving their detention facilities.

Within hours, the Department of Justice asked the Washington, D.C. court of appeals for a two-week stay in the decision to give lawyers a chance to appeal, in the case of one of the girls.
