Nevada Voters Posthumously Elected A Brothel Owner To State Assembly

Republican Dennis Hof died less than one month before Election Day.

Voters in one Nevada district elected a dead candidate to the state assembly.

Infamous brothel owner Dennis Hof died less than a month before Election Day. But he easily beat his democratic opponent.

According to state law, Hof's seat is considered vacant and it's up to the county commissioners to pick someone else from the Republican party to take his place.

But the state law doesn't put a timeline on that selection process. Nevada's new legislature is scheduled to get to work February 4, 2019.
