Kavanaugh's Accuser Willing To Testify, But She Has Conditions

Ford also wants her safety guaranteed and she wants the committee to subpoena additional witnesses.

Lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford told the Senate Judiciary Committee she's willing to testify next week about her sexual assault allegation against Brett Kavanaugh, but only under certain conditions.

Debra Katz, Ford's attorney, said the earliest Ford could appear before the committee is Thursday next week.

Other requests include Ford and Kavanaugh never being in the same room and Kavanaugh testifying first.

Ford also wants her safety guaranteed and she wants the committee to subpoena additional witnesses, including Mark Judge, the man she says witnessed the alleged attack.

According to her attorneys, Ford and her family were forced to leave their home because she's been the target of "vicious harassment and even death threats." A GoFundMe campaign is raising money to help cover her security costs.

Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley said Friday he was willing to accept some of Ford's conditions, but said others — like the request that Kavanaugh testify first — were unreasonable. He said if an agreement with Ford isn't reached by 10 p.m. Friday, the committee will move forward with a vote on Kavanaugh's nomination on Monday.
