Just a few hours after Rex Tillerson was booted from the State Department, one of his top aides was also fired.
White House officials told reporters Undersecretary of State Steve Goldstein was dismissed for contradicting the account of Tillerson's departure.
Not long after news broke that Tillerson was out, Goldstein said in a statement Tillerson had "every intention of staying" and he was "unaware of the reason" for his termination.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, Goldstein had yet to comment.
