President Donald Trump has named Brad Parscale as campaign manager for his 2020 re-election bid.
The Trump campaign confirmed the decision Tuesday. The Drudge Report first reported the news.
Parscale was the digital director for Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. And the president's son Eric Trump said in a statement Parscale is "the perfect person to be at the helm" of the next campaign.
It's no surprise the president is already planning for 2020. He did file for re-election the day he was sworn into office.
But, as CNN points out, sitting presidents don't usually hire a campaign manager this far out from Election Day.
In addition to planning for the 2020 race, the Trump campaign says it will also help Republican candidates in the 2018 midterm elections.
