"If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation. Because there has never been so many lies, so much deception," Donald Trump said during a debate with Hillary Clinton.
Well, it looks like that plan is out the window.
After vowing to pursue further investigations of Clinton's private email server and the Clinton Foundation, Trump's administration will drop the matter altogether.

"I think when the president-elect who's also the head of your party tells you before he's even inaugurated he doesn't wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone and content to the members," Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC.
The decision is a major break from one of Trump's biggest campaign promises — one that many of his backers strongly supported.
Just before the presidential election, FBI Director James Comey announced for the second time the agency would not bring any charges against Clinton in connection with her private email server.
But it's important to note, even if Trump had kept his word here, the Department of Justice is an independent organization — the president can't dictate which cases the attorney general investigates.
