Alex is the director of Washington operations for Scripps News, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Scripps News Washington, D.C. Bureau. In this role, she manages the planning and execution of daily news coverage, assigns correspondents to collaborate with photographers and editors, oversees budgeting, and works closely with external partners to secure key access for comprehensive news reporting. Her work in journalism has earned her the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Digital Journalism.

Alex's interest in journalism began in seventh grade when she joined her school’s TV production club. She graduated from Syracuse University and began her professional journey working for The Today Show. Before joining Scripps News, Alex was a producer for CBS News, where she played a key role in launching the network's 24/7 digital platform in 2014. She also contributed to major breaking news coverage and special events, including the Women's March, the Parkland school shooting, presidential inaugurations and New Year's Eve broadcasts from Times Square.
