You know those old Blockbuster movie rental stores you see but never actually go inside? Well, you don't have to feel guilty anymore for not giving them your business.

The Denver Post reports DVD mail services will continue through mid-December, and the closings will affect 2,800 jobs.

Dish's president and CEO wrote, "This is not an easy decision, yet consumer demand is clearly moving to digital distribution of video entertainment."

No kidding. Just last month, The New York Times' Brian Stelter reported Netflix's worldwide subscriber count climbed to more than 40 million.

Bloomberg says, "When Blockbuster was owned by Viacom in 2004, it operated about 9,000 locations — before streaming video services such as Netflix devastated the industry."

Way to go, online video. You're hacking everyone off. Well, except your customers.
