Craigslist is shutting down its "personals" section.

The move comes after the Senate recently passed a controversial anti-sex trafficking bill. If it becomes law, host websites like Craigslist could be held responsible for users' illegal activity.

In a statement, Craigslist says, "Any tool or service can be misused." The company says it doesn't want to take its personals section offline but says it can't risk jeopardizing its other services.

Craigslist says it hopes to eventually revive that part of its site.
