The tobacco company behind Marlboro cigarettes says it will stop selling certain e-cigarette products to help address concerns about vaping among children and teens.

In a press release Thursday, Altria said it's pulling its e-cigarette pods and most of its flavored e-cigarettes until the products get "a market order from the FDA or the youth issue is otherwise addressed."

According to the CDC, more than two million middle school and high school students used e-cigarettes in 2017.

And the FDA has been working to lower that number. The agency spent millions on an education campaign warning kids about the dangers of e-cigarettes. And it said it was considering a ban on flavored e-cigarettes to crack down on underage use.

Altria also said it will support federal legislation to raise the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21.
