A toy company executive is working on a last-minute bid to save Toys R Us.
The CEO of MGA Entertainment — the company behind the Bratz doll — has personally pledged $200 million in a crowdfunding bid to save hundreds of the soon-to-close toy store locations.
He, along with other unnamed investors, are spearheading a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising $1 billion by May 28.
Toys R Us said March 14 it plans to sell or close all of its U.S. stores. It filed for bankruptcy in September with about $5 billion in debt.
