Southwest May Impose First Layoffs In Company History

The airline is asking labor unions for help with "overstaffing costs."

Southwest Airlines could lay off nearly 7,000 employees.

The company says that's unless labor unions are able to help with "overstaffing costs."

Because of the pandemic, Southwest is flying less with the same amount of people on staff.

These would be the company's first layoffs in history.
