Walmart is reportedly in early talks to buy health insurance company Humana.

Anonymous sources told The Wall Street Journal the two companies are discussing a deal. The terms of the potential agreement are unclear. But the Journal says they are looking into a variety of options.

If they do make a deal, it would be a big one, considering Humana's market value currently sits at more than $37 billion.

If the report is true, Walmart would be the latest retailer to partner with an insurer. CVS Health agreed to buy health insurance giant Aetna in December.

Some say Amazon could have sparked mergers like these.

Last year, Amazon got approval for wholesale pharmacy licenses in several states, which experts said was further proof of Amazon's likely venture into the drug supply market. And the very idea reportedly spooked potential competitors.
