The ice cream company says it had to do a lot of testing, but it's now offering four new almond-based flavors.

I scream. You scream. We all scream for dairy-free ice cream! And Ben & Jerry's heard our cries.

Enter the company's very first line of vegan-certified flavors. Nondairy-lovers can now indulge in almond milk-based Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, Coffee Caramel Fudge and P.B. & Cookies.

A Ben & Jerry's spokesperson said in a press release, "We wanted to bring the same fun with all of the creamy, funky, and chunky swirls plus the Ben & Jerry's flavor excitement to our Non-Dairy fans and we nailed it!"

But creating this decadent new ice cream apparently wasn't easy. One of the company's "flavor gurus" told Forbes it was a challenge to get the recipes right.

She said: "We had everything from: it's too icy; it's too firm; there's too much fat in it and you get that chapstick mouthful." Yum?

It looks like all of that experimenting paid off. One lucky writer for The Huffington Post got to try the new concoctions and declared, "The flavors ... taste as rich as their creamy cousins, except without the eggs and milk."

To see where you can get your hands (and mouth) on the new flavors, head to Ben & Jerry's website.
