Celebrities' Post-Baby Bodies May Set Unreasonable Standards

Model and singer Paulina Gretzky definitely looks great post-baby.

The 26-year-old posted a pic of herself in an itsy-bitsy black bikini to her Instagram late Wednesday, showing off her toned physique.

Gretzky, who's engaged to golfer Dustin Johnson, gave birth to their son Tatum in January.

And while, yes, she looks great, it would have been OK even if she still had some baby weight. It's easy to understand that celebs can feel pressured to quickly bounce back after giving birth.

In 2014, a gender and women's studies professor told the International Business Times fans and the media are obsessed with how a celebrity looks during all stages of her pregnancy.

But some celebs — like actress Drew Barrymore — have been vocal about not getting worked up over losing that weight immediately.

In April, she told Radar Online"Women have to take the pressures off. ... It takes nine months to build, and it is going to take at least nine months to un-build."

And a month earlier, Olivia Wilde, who gave birth to a son in spring of 2014, told Shape magazine, "I believe in a world where mothers are not expected to shed any physical evidence of their child-bearing experience."

At the same time, though, Wilde looked like this on the cover of the magazine.

The actress did address the photos though, saying they'd "been generously constructed to show my best angles, and I assure you, good lightning has been warmly embraced." (Video via Shape Magazine)
