New Zealand police said in a statement obtained by MSN NZ that a 33-year-old American man was pulled over on March 1 during an early morning routine check.
The man was charged that same day with driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, which is .08. Police refused to provide any more information because "the matter is now before the court."
Now, police didn't explicitly name Pine as the offender.
But several entertainment outlets including E! and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting the 33-year-old actor was the man mentioned in the statement.

The manager told The Press the actor was drinking beer but didn't look intoxicated when he left around 2:30 a.m. "Chris was really good. They were a good crowd, the whole lot of them."
The bar manager also said he was surprised that Pine allegedly got behind the wheel — the pub had reportedly organized sober rides home for anyone who needed one.
Court officials said Wednesday Pine is due in court March 17. His reps couldn't be reached for comment on the situation. (Via Paramount Pictures / "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit")
