The long-awaited third "Ghostbusters" movie is still going to happen, even after star Harold Ramis passed away Monday.
That's according to The Hollywood Reporter, which says the movie's director will meet with Sony to discuss how to move forward on the project.
Ramis and his close friends, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, starred in the original 1984 film and a sequel. Both were box office hits. A third film had been talked about for years. (Via Columbia Pictures / "Ghostbusters")
"The Office"'s Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were writing the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it will now need some revamping. Ramis, Murray and Aykroyd were all set to appear.
The plan was for them to hand the ghost-wrangling reins over to three newcomers. The movie doesn't yet have a release date.

The comedy great is survived by his wife, children and, of course, his equally iconic friends.
Murray also worked with Ramis on classics like "Meatballs," "Stripes," "Caddyshack" and "Groundhog Day." He said this week of his friend, "He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him.”
