Well, here it is — the moment the squeaky-clean boy band members are revealed to be real people who make average young-person choices.

The Daily Mail has posted what it calls exclusive video of members of One Direction smoking pot.

"One very important factor to Zayn's warmup is of course, Mary J. ... How is it, Zayn?"

According to the outlet, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were in Peru when Tomlinson filmed the video. They speak about police and illegal substances and also about wishing their public image were a more accurate reflection of who they really are, meaning less boring.

The Daily Mail has a full transcript. The other band members do not appear to have been in the vehicle. The band has been on its Where We Are tour as of late. (Via Sony Music Entertainment / One Direction)

And of course, there's been outcry over the video — some fans have reportedly responded by ripping up or burning their concert tickets. (Via Fashion Times)

Predictably, The Telegraph found some outraged parents of fans.

And Gossip Cop is reporting that, disturbingly, some young teens were posting photos of self-harm on Twitter in response to the video.

A spokesman for the band told The Guardian he had no comment.

It's unclear exactly how the Daily Mail obtained the footage purportedly showing 21-year-old Malik. Again, it does appear 22-year-old Tomlinson was filming.

So far, no comments from the band on social media. (Via Twitter / @Louis_Tomlinson, Twitter / @zaynmalik)
