The actor successfully completed treatment in 2002, kicking off his career comeback. That personal history no doubt played into RDJ's quick response to the news of Indio's arrest. (Via ABC

He released this statement to TMZ"Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being. We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."

Page Six reports Indio has battled substance abuse for some time now, seeking treatment at a rehab facility last year for a prescription painkiller dependency.

At the time, Indio's mother, actress Deborah Falconer, told the National Enquirer: "He was not addicted. He was taking one pill a day."

So far, Indio has yet to release a statement.
