Prince William will soon make history — he'll be the first member of the British royal family to make an official visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories.
Kensington Palace announced the Duke of Cambridge will head to Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian territories this summer. The announcement didn't specify dates.
The U.K. government requested the visit. The Duchess of Cambridge will not join her husband on the tour.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he welcomes the "historic visit."
