American rapper A$AP Rocky was found guilty of assault in Sweden Wednesday.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was not in Sweden to hear the verdict. The Stockholm District Court handed him a conditional sentence, meaning Rocky won't serve any more jail time.
During the trial, a Swedish prosecutor said Rocky and two members of his entourage attacked a 19-year-old man in Stockholm on June 30.
Rocky, who pleaded not guilty, told police he was acting in self-defense after the victim and another individual followed and harassed him, despite being repeatedly asked to stop.
Following the trial, Rocky and his co-defendants were released from jail in Sweden, where they had been held for a month. They were allowed to return to the U.S. as they awaited the verdict.
The prosecutor had asked for the court to sentence Rocky to six months in prison. But in a statement, the court said the assault was not serious enough for any of the defendants to warrant more time in detention.
