James Corden has found his late-night groove in his Carpool Karaoke sketch.
And yes, it's a blast watching artists like Bieber and Mariah Carey sing their own songs, but there's a real MVP in that car, and it's not them. It's Corden.
I mean, sure. We knew he had a good voice. Corden, who studied drama at the Jackie Palmer Stage School, is a Tony-award winning Broadway star who also found success in film with musical movies like "Into the Woods."
But I don't think anyone ever thought he could harmonize with Adele the way he did in that Range Rover. Adele was even surprised.
And he excels at more than just harmonizing. He can rap, too.
His karaoke videos reach view counts in the tens of millions. The Adele vid has over 72 million views while One Direction's has more than 43 million.
And because it's just singing in a car, viewers see a more relaxed side of the celebrities — partly because Corden knows how to bring out their goofier selves, like getting Adele to rap a Nicki Minaj song.
But it's his ability to sing along (and not destroy the moment) that helped solidify the success of the "Late Late Show" bit and its ability to compete with other well-known late-night viral sketches like Kimmel's "Mean Tweets" and Fallon's "Lip Sync Battle."
So who's on his "Karaoke" wish list still? He told Entertainment Weekly he'd love to sing with Kanye West and Taylor Swift — but maybe not at the same time.
