It's a good day to be the queen. Well, the fictional one on Netflix's "The Crown," that is.

That's because the TV show's producers announced that from now on, the actress who plays Queen Elizabeth II will be the highest-paid memberof the cast.

The announcement came after the producers revealed Matt Smith, who played Prince Phillip for the first two seasons of "The Crown," made more money per episode than Claire Foy, who played the queen.

The producers said Smith made more because of his fame from the BBC series "Doctor Who."

Unfortunately, Foy won't have the chance to earn a higher wage since her time on the series is done.

Since the show chronicles Elizabeth's life from her accession to the throne to present day, the characters are being recast every few seasons. Olivia Coleman is taking over as the queen for season 3. Netflix has yet to announce who will next play Philip.
