Medical aid from China is arriving in Italy, as the coronavirus outbreak continues to wreak havoc on the European country.

The Wall Street Journal reports that around 300 intensive-care doctors from China arrived in Italy Wednesday, bringing with them field experience of dealing with the deadly virus and much-needed supplies, like ventilators and masks.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Italy has climbed above 35,000, with deaths totaling around 3,000, according to Johns Hopkins University.

But while the aid has been welcomed in Italy, some government officials in Europe are reportedly writing it off as nothing more than China returning a favor for past help. Italy has condemned the European Union for not providing more support during this pandemic.
