U.S. COVID-19 Cases Top 10.1 Million

Globally, there have been just under 51 million cases and 1.2 million deaths. India and Brazil trail the U.S. in reported cases of the virus.

The number of reported COVID-19 cases in the U.S. now top 10.1 million and the death toll stands at more than 238,000, according to Johns Hopkins University. 

The U.S. reported nearly 120,000 new cases of the coronavirus on Monday and more than 470 deaths. For nearly a week now, cases have topped more than 100,000 new cases a day. 

The majority of states are struggling to contain outbreaks, but states in the Midwest are seeing some of the most new cases – with more than 10,000 cases reported in Illinois for four consecutive days and more than 9,000 in Michigan.
