Academy Award-winning actor Martin Landau has died. He was 89 years old.

Landau's publicist confirmed the actor died after "unexpected complications" during a short stay at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Landau was probably best known for starring in the "Mission: Impossible" TV series in the 1960s.

But he also found great success on the big screen.

His role in Tim Burton's 1994 film "Ed Wood" scored him an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.

And near the end of his career, he landed a role on the HBO series "Entourage."
