Senate Committee Delays Kavanaugh Vote

The Senate Judiciary Committee was scheduled to vote Thursday, but ultimately delayed it by a week.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh's going to need to wait a little longer before he learns if he's cleared the first hurdle on his way to the Supreme Court.

The Senate Judiciary Committee was scheduled to vote Thursday, but ultimately delayed it by a week after Democrats on the panel requested it. This is allowed under committee rules

The delay comes after a contentious confirmation hearing last week that featured leaked emails, partisan politics and more than 200 protesters getting arrested.

President Donald Trump nominated Kavanaugh to succeed Anthony Kennedy, who retired from the bench at the end of July.
