France said Thursday it sanctioned 18 Saudi nationals connected to the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The sanctions include travel bans, according to Reuters, and the outlet says more could be coming as the investigation into the Saudi journalist's death continues.
The ministry didn't identify the individuals by name, but said the travel ban applies to countries in the European Union's passport-free Schengen zone. France's announcement follows a similar move from Germany on Monday. Germany also said it's blocking all weapons sales to the kingdom.
France's sanctions come one week after the U.S. announced sanctions on 17 people who "targeted and brutally killed a journalist who resided and worked in the United States."
