Vice President Mike Pence is headed to South Korea, and he's on a mission: to remind the world North Korea is a threat, even though it's competing in the upcoming Winter Olympics.
A White House official said Pence wants to "make clear that the maximum pressure of the Kim regime will only intensify" and avoid normalizing the country just because it's at the games.
To drive that message home, Pence is bringing Fred Warmbier. He's the father of Otto Warmbier, an American who died after North Korea imprisoned him.
Pence tweeted Monday, "[Fred Warmbier] & his wife remind the world of the atrocities happening in N Korea."
North Korea and South Korea will march together under a unified flag Friday.
