The Republican National Committee is showing its commitment to winning statewide elections through its efforts in the Virginia governors race. Democrats there spent $1.5 million to hire 40 people, whereas Republicans spent $3 million to hire 80. And the extra commitment makes sense: Republicans haven't won a statewide race in Virginia in eight years.
