Georgia governor candidate Stacey Abrams' campaign has filed a federal lawsuit asking a judge to have rejected absentee and provisional ballots counted.
The lawsuit also asks that vote certification be delayed until Wednesday so those ballots can be counted by election officials.
The lawsuit says over 1,000 absentee ballots were rejected because of missing or insufficient information. And it says provisional ballots in two counties in the Atlanta metro area were rejected because those voters were registered in a different county.
At the moment, Republican candidate Brian Kemp holds the lead with 50.3 percent of the vote. If Kemp's tally of votes drops below 50 percent, the race will automatically head into a runoff election Dec. 4.
