Republicans Will Maintain Control Over The US Senate

Republicans will keep control of both chambers of Congress after the election.

Republicans held enough seats through Election Day to keep their majority in the Senate.

With their renewed mandate, the GOP will probably focus on repealing and replacing Obamacare during the next session of Congress.

Immigration was a key issue for the GOP this election, so the Senate is poised to undo Obama's executive actions on the issue and pass tougher border controls.

And thanks to Republicans' blockade on nomination hearings, the party will retain control of who fills the empty Supreme Court seat.
