President Donald Trump was reportedly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Officials suspect it's a fake.

The Peace Research Institute of Oslo says an anonymous American nominated Trump for "his peace through strength ideology."

But the director of the Nobel Institute told outlets there's "good reason" to suspect Trump's nomination is fraudulent and says something similar might've happened last year. Now, he says police are looking into the recent nomination.

Traditionally, the names of nominees are kept under wraps; only a select group of people can even submit nominations. This year, there are 329 candidates for the prize.

The winner will be announced in October.
