After almost a week of controversy and back-and-forth, the widow of fallen soldier Sgt. La David Johnson is speaking up.

Myeshia Johnson said, "I'm going to tell her how awesome her dad was and how great a father he was and how he died as a hero."

ABC sat down with Myeshia Johnson, who's pregnant, to get her account of the ongoing dispute over what President Trump said to her when he called to express his condolences.

Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, who heard the call on speakerphone, said Trump told the widow her husband "knew what he was signing up for," but that it still hurts. Johnson confirmed Wilson's account and said Trump struggled to remember her husband's name during the call.

In a tweet Monday, Trump denied Johnson's statement and said, "I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!"

The previous Saturdayand Sunday, Trump tweeted that Rep. Wilson was a "wacky" woman.

And Wednesday, he tweeted that her claims were "fabricated."

In Johnson's interview, she also expressed frustration over not knowing the details surrounding her husband's death. Sgt. La David Johnson was killed along with three other soldiers during an operation in Niger earlier this month. He was laid to rest Saturday.
