Twitter Loses 9 Million Users But Earns More Than Expected In Q3

For users who stuck around, though, Twitter might become a little friendlier to use.

Twitter lost 9 million users in its third quarter, but it's still pretty profitable.

The company reported a total revenue of $758 million in its third quarter earnings, which was a better-than-expected 29 percent increase. The Wall Street Journal reports most of that was from ad sales.

And for those users who stuck around, Twitter might be a little friendlier to use. CEO Jack Dorsey said in a conference call with reporters the company has managed to increase health of public conversation on the platform by cutting suspicious account activities.

Twitter has suspended tens of millions of accounts just this year in an effort to cut down on fake accounts and abusive activity.
