Waymo's self-driving semi trucks are about to hit the streets of Atlanta.

Waymo — a Google spinoff — said Friday it's launching a pilot program, where its trucks will carry cargo bound for its sister company's data centers.

Waymo has been road testing the trucks in California and Arizona for a while. They use the same suite of sensors as the company's self-driving minivans.

Of course, the trucks in Atlanta won't be totally unmanned; drivers will be in the cab to take over if anything goes wrong.

The program is scheduled to start in mid-March.
