This year marks the 50th anniversary of hip hop. DJ Kool Herc used two turntables to spin music into a way to bring the community together and stop the violence in the Bronx. Hip Hop has evolved tremendously since then, beyond the music and into billion dollar brands. Turntables to Trendsetters will bring diverse voices together to talk about the state of rap and hip hop, and whether the music and culture need to change.
