Former North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron had himself quite the day Thursday.
While waiting to be picked in the NFL draft in New York, Ebron decided to select his girlfriend as his No. 1 overall pick. That's right — he proposed. (Via Flickr / Thomson20192)
Fox Sports reporter Peter Schrager was first on it, tweeting this: "Here's UNC TE Eric Ebron, on bended knee, proposing atop the Empire State Building on Draft Day. She said yes."
Ebron was quick to share the news with the world himself too, posting to his Instagram page, "She Said YES."
And later posting, "Moments Like This I Treasure Forever." Ebron's now-fiancee, Brittany Rountree, is a University of North Carolina basketball player. (Via Instagram / ericebron)
Proposing to your girlfriend on possibly the biggest day of your football career? It might sound familiar.
Who could forget the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between Boise State and Oklahoma? Yeah, that's the one featuring the Broncos running the hook-and-ladder and later the Statue of Liberty play to win the game. (Via The New York Times)
And yes, right after scoring that touchdown, Boise State running back Ian Johnson ran to the sideline, dropped down on one knee, and asked his then-cheerleader girlfriend, Chrissy, to marry him. (Via Fox Sports)
Oh, the feels ...
