He went from journeyman enforcer to NHL All-Star celebrity overnight.
John Scott was voted in by fans to the All-Star game, despite his lack of typical All-Star stats.
The NHL tried to ban him from the game, but it only made him more popular.
Scott scored a pair of goals,
got into a "fight,"
was hoisted up by his teammates,
won the All-Star game MVP,
accepted a $1 million check,
dished out some hugs
and spent time with family.
Not bad for a guy who wasn't supposed to be there.
