The National Hockey League is teaming up with MGM Resorts International to form a sports betting partnership.
The NHL said Monday it has agreed to a multi-year deal with MGM Resorts, which will be the league's first sports betting partner.
As part of the deal, MGM gets access to the NHL's intellectual property, like team logos, and proprietary game data. But the partnership isn't exclusive, which means the league could make similar agreements with other partners too.
The NHL isn't the first major sports league to strike a sports betting deal with MGM. Back in July, the NBA named MGM Resorts as the official gaming partner of the NBA and the WNBA.
