One of the biggest UFC upsets in recent memory happened Saturday night when Englishman Michael Bisping took home the middleweight title from Luke Rockhold at UFC 199.
Bisping came into the fight as a heavy underdog but won in dominating fashion, sending Rockhold home with a first-round knockout.
"You enjoy your short-lived destiny, my friend, mark my words," Rockhold told Bisping at the post-fight press conference.
"It is my destiny. It is my destiny, not your destiny," Bisping replied.
Rockhold being on the losing end of the fight is something pretty much no one saw coming. Bisping is 37-years-old, has failed a couple of times before to even get a UFC title shot, plus he took the fight on with two-and-a-half weeks notice.
And the last time Bisping faced Rockhold he was the one getting knocked out.
Rockhold says he'll get his revenge in a rematch, something Bisping, not surprisingly, takes issue with.
"You just said I can't compete with you; I just knocked you out in the first round, cold," Bisping said at the presser. "Have you seen that replay, buddy?"
But as exciting as UFC 199 was for fans, folks are already looking toward the next fight on the UFC's radar, UFC 200 on July 9.
One thing we now know: Brock Lesnar is coming back to the cage. He's been spending the past few years with World Wrestling Entertainment and hasn't fought at UFC since late 2011.
Lesnar's fight is just a one-off at UFC 200, and we don't know who his opponent will be yet.
And it wouldn't be a big UFC fight night without some Conor McGregor publicity. The promotion announced his much-anticipated rematch with Nick Diaz is scheduled for UFC 202 in August.
