According to the Staten Island Advance, police say Heriberto Pagan, a man in his 80s, shot his 47-year-old grandson, then fired at his grandson’s 28-year-old girlfriend.
Then, WNBC reports Pagan fled to his car, drove away and turned the gun on himself. He later died from his wounds.
According to the NYPD, both victims were shot in the head and taken to a nearby hospital when officers arrived on the scene.

Authorities haven’t cited a motive. But the family’s neighbors told WABC years of bad blood between Pagan and his grandson could have triggered the tragic shooting.

An investigation into the incident was still underway as of Saturday morning.
