Police say the Utah woman accused of killing six babies and hiding them along with a stillborn couldn't tell detectives exactly how many infants she had in her home.

KSTU reports Megan Huntsman told detectives there were eight or nine babies in her home, but police said they found seven. Police said six of those infants died after Huntsman allegedly strangled them.

KTVX notes police also released information from search warrants that noted the bodies were hidden in Huntsman's garage. One of them was reportedly in a box sealed with electrical tape.

Police say Huntsman's ex-husband, Darren West, found one of the babies when he went to the to get some of his belongings out of the garage. West is currently living in a halfway house after serving eight years in prison for drug crimes.

After police arrived, The Salt Lake Tribune reports they found bodies in other boxes, one of them hidden in a cubby, and another inside a cabinet.

Huntsman reportedly told West that he was the father of the baby he had found. KSL-TV notes Huntsman also has three daughters. One of them was born during the time period she allegedly killed the other newborns.

"She didn't say anything. No outward expression of emotions."

Earlier in the week, Huntsman was formally charged with six counts of murder.

Investigators have gotten DNA from all the babies, as well as Huntsman and West, to determine who the parents are. Huntsman is currently being held on a $6 million bail. Her next scheduled court appearance is May 19. Prosecutors haven't publicly stated any motive.
