The Austin City Council on Thursday unanimously approved a resolution, led by Council Member Alison Alter, directing the city to hire a third-party examiner to conduct a comprehensive review of a minimum of 50 percent of sexual assault cases from each of the past seven years.

The council has directed that the review’s findings will be shared on a prominent place on the city’s website.
