The settlement comes months after 25-year-old Gray died after suffering a spinal cord injury in police custody. Protests following Gray's death got national attention.

Six officers involved in Gray's arrest and subsequent death face criminal charges.

In a statement, the city mayor's office said the settlement doesn't reflect an admission of guilt by any officers.

Another hearing for those charged officers is set for later this week to determine if the trial should be moved out of Baltimore.
